• Who can practice?:                                                    Whether you are nine or ninety, male or female, a sports person or not you can participate in Shin-Ki-Tai Ho. It is a 'low impact' exercise which helps stimulate and promotes well being and health. It can be done almost anywhere.
  • What to Wear? :                                              A tracksuit/tee shirt and jogging bottoms or something similar and comfortable, that does not restrict your movement.

  • Shin-Ki-Tai Ho is part of Treorchy Aiki Ryu's training principles developed by Kyoshi Mike Williams Shihan, specifically aimed for the general public who would like to participate in a non-competitive and  non-martial environment but be able to achieve the long term benefits as outlined below. However, Shin-ki-Tai Ho will also benefit existing martial artists from all disciplines and all types of sports men and women or keep fit enthusiasts. It really is for everyone.

          

Five Basic Categories of Practice/Training:

KOKYU HO  - to develop abdominal breath power, through Aiki techniques and exercises.                                                                                                                                                                                        AIKI BREATHING TECHNIQUES/EXERCISES - to enable one to meditate and centralise oneself and relax.                                                                                                                                                                                             BODY (Tai) FORMS/EXERCISE - slow body movements based on the principles of Aiki to develop well being, awareness, good health, co-ordination, and to establish harmony with nature and the environment.                                                                                                                                                                         GROUP/SOLO FREE MOVEMENT EXERCISES -   to develop awareness, balance, focus and the ability to move naturally (quickly or slowly depending on the circumstances) without tension allowing the participant to adopt to any  situation.                                                                                                                                                                                   SHIN-KI-TAI  DEVELOPMENT EXERCISES -  to develop internal power of energy/Ki and the co-ordination of mind and body, whilst in motion.
